Film to Compete in 72nd Academy Awards

After a one-week run at the Laemmle Theatre in Encino–California–the Armenian Film Foundation film "Voices From the Lake" has qualified for competition in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences 72nd Annual Academy Awards in the Feature Length Documentary Division. The film is a record of what happened in the city of Kharpert in 1915.

On the final day of the sold-out screening on November 4–at least fifty people were turned away. The film was written and directed by J. Michael Hagopian.
