Armenian Prime Minister Chinese Ambassador Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The largest Chinese companies have expressed willingness to participate in the reconstruction of the Hrazdan thermal power plant–construction of the Iran-Armenia gas pipe-line and establishment of a water-meter-producing joint venture–Chinese Ambassador to Armenia Zhu Zhaoshun said at his meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Aram Sargsyan. The Chinese ambassador said that 300 minitractors are already ready to be supplied to Armenia and there is a need for establishing a joint venture for the production of such minitractors. Ambassador Zhaoshun also pointed out that China is willing to make investmen’s in Armenia’s metallurgy.

Zhaoshun pointed out that that he was in friendly relations with the late prime minister–Vazgen Sargsyan and is willing to maintain this friendship with younger brother–Aram and will spare no efforts in developing relations between the two countries.

In his turn–Prime Minister Sargsyan pointed out that his late brother Vazgen made a great contribution to the improvement of the Armenian-Chinese relations. He said that he studied this matter in detail and will follow the same policy. The prime minister pointed out that it is a matter of honor for him to continue his brother’s cause–and China–as a friendly country–occupies a special place in the Armenian government’s foreign policy.
