GLENDALE–The Armenian National Committee Political Action Committee (ANC-PAC) announced its decision Wednesday to endorse Paul Krekorian and Craig Missakian–who are seeking the Democratic and Republican nominations respectively for California’s 43rd State Assembly seat.
The ANC-PAC made its endorsement of Krekorian based on his active participation in Armenian American community affairs as well as the respect and prominence he has earned through his many accomplishmen’s in private and public life.
Krekorian serves as a Trustee of the Armenian Film Foundation (AFF)–which recently received a $465,000 grant from the State of California to finance a documentary film about the Armenian Genocide. He also is active in the Armenian American Democratic Leadership Council (AADLC) and the Armenian General Benevolent Union’s (AGBU) Young Professionals–which initiated the "Generation Next" mentorship program for at-risk Armenian youth in the Glendale schools.
Krekorian– an attorney who is also a Los Angeles City Ethics Commissioner–has long been active in a number of cultural–legal and city-wide organizations. He has served on Los Angeles City Attorney James Hahn’s Criminal Justice Panel–and remains active as a member of the Advisory Board of Women Against Gun Violence and the Domestic Violence Project in the Los Angeles Superior Court.
Krekorian’s endorsemen’s include the Democratic Party of San Fernando Valley–Democrats for Neighborhood Action and the California Democratic Council Southern Region as well as a number of prominent community and civic leaders.
The current Assemblyman from the 43rd District–Scott Wildman–is vacating the seat to run for the State Senate. The district includes Glendale–Burbank–Los Feliz–Toluca Lake–Atwater Village and Silver Lake.

The ANC-PAC endorsement of Missakian comes after careful consideration of Missakian’s impressive credentials as a bright and principled professional and long-standing commitment to ensuring the welfare of the Armenian American community.
A graduate of Glendale’s public school system–Missakian received his post-secondary education at the University of Southern California–where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa–and Georgetown Law School. He was a former criminal prosecutor with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and has been an active participant in state and local Republican Party activities–serving in a variety of leadership positions.
Missakian is also active in Armenian community affairs as both a Board Member of Junior Achievement of Armenia and New Direction for Armenian Youth–a church affiliated organization that counsels at-risk Armenian American youth.
Missakian’s candidacy has garnered a number of important endorsemen’s including State Senator Richard Mountjoy’s–State Assemblyman Tom McClintock’s and Burbank Board of Education Member Mike McDonald’s.
The 43rd State Assembly District covers Glendale–Burbank–Los Feliz–Toluca Lake–Atwater Village and Silver Lake.
