GLENDALE–The Board of Regents of Prelacy Armenian Schools announced the appointment of Garabet Moumdjian as principal of the Pico Rivera-based Armenian Mesrobian School.
Moumdjian is a Ph.D. Candidate in Armenian history at UCLA and was the assistant principal of Vahan and Anoush Chamlian Armenian school from 1996 to 1999. In September–Moumdjian was named Acting Principal at Mesrobian.
The Board of Regents appointed Moumdjian principal based on his excellent performance in the last four months–as well as his years of experience in the field of education and his grasp of the importance of mission of Armenian schools.
"We are confident that Mr. Moumdjian–who is meticulous about the mission of Armenian schools will put forth his educational experience–particularly his mastering of the Armenian language and history–and will administer the Mesrobian school taking it to new heights," commented the Board of Regents.
