YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The problem of makeshifts will be solved in Giumri before 2001–Governor of the Shirak region Felix Pirumian said at a meeting with British Ambassador to Armenia Timothy Jones. Pirumian briefed the British ambassador on the construction–educational and health problems in the region.
Jones pointed out that despite the problems construction is being carried out in Giumri. The British ambassador pointed out that much is still to be discussed and expressed optimism that Great Britain will play a considerable role in the restoration works in Giumri.
Ambassador Jones also showed interest in the results of the meeting in Kars on Jan. 17 to 20.
