YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Gas supplies to Armenia have dropped by half due to Armenia’s debt for the Russian gas. "Armrosgasprom" Closely-held Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) told Noyan Tapan that the reduction of gas supplies occurred because a payment transfer to cover Armenia’s debt to Russia did not reach the place.
Currently–the management of the "Armrosgasprom" CJSC is holding negotiations with officials of "Gasprom" Open Joint Stock Company (OJSC) and "Itera" company in Moscow. According to the source–gas supplies to Armenia will be restored in full on February 3.
Meanwhile–"Armrosgasprom" has reduced gas supplies to a limited number of consumers in Armenia. Yet facilities of vital importance (bakeries–energy facilities) are being provided with fuel. Though the lack of gas needed to generate electricity brought about stoppage of Armenia’s energy supplies to Georgia.
