Construction of Karabakh’s North South Highway to Start in April

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Prime Minister of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Anoushavan Danielian issued a decree setting up a commission to deal with the construction of the North-South highway. The commission is headed by Karabakh Minister of Urban Development Vagharshak Palanjanian. The All-Armenian Hayastan fund announced a proposal in selecting planning organizations. As a result of the proposal–three planning organizations were granted the right to participate in designing the highway.

Palanjanian pointed out that prospecting has been carried out in individual sections of the projected highway since December–as the deadline nears.

The deadline for the presentation of designs is the end of March. The construction of the highway will begin in April. A large part of the funds for the construction was raised during a telethon held in Los Angeles last November.
