Petrossian Hands Credential to Greek President

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenia’s Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic Armen Petrossian presented his credentials to President Konstantin Stephanopulos Monday.

During the meeting both sides pointed out the progress in bilateral relations and called for further deepening of Armenian-Greek cooperation.

Last year’s visit of the Greek President to Armenia during which he invited President Robert Kocharian to pay an official visit to Greece was described as an important event from this point of view. Petrossian informed the Greek President that Kocharian will visit Greece this fall. Armenia’s Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian will visit Greece this spring.

The same day Petrossian left for Salonika to attend the Asia-2000 forum held in this city on February 7-8. The Armenian delegation included Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Armen Gevorgian and Deputy Minister of Transport Ashot Grigorian. The Ambassador also held meetings with representatives of the local Armenian community.
