Turkish Patients Likely to Be Treated in Yerevan

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Patients with spinal injuries from Turkey–victims of the devastating earthquake last summer–will most probably be treated in the Armenian Post-Traumatic Rehabilitation Center in Yerevan. The Center was built after 1988 earthquake at the initiative of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Association and is equipped with state-of-the art equipment with highly skilled staff. Until now around 1000 patients have been treated here.

A delegation from Turkish health ministry was invited to Armenia by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Association–Armenian Red Cross Association and Armenian Health ministry to get familiar with the work of the Center.

A six member Turkish delegation spent three days in Yerevan and was provided all necessary information. The delegation members also met with Armenian health–foreign ministries’ and others senior government officials. The delegation will submit a relevant report to Turkish government.
