YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"The most important consideration is an economic policy which will allow to ensure growth of GDP," president Robert Kocharian said at a February 11 meeting with the Republican Party Board. Under previously reached agreement such meetings will be held regularly with the aim of discussing the current situation in the country and key problems.
On request of the Board of the Republican Party–the president also commented on the Kocharian-Aliyev talks aimed at settling the Karabakh conflict. Kocharian noted that he decided to report on the process of the conflict settlement in a televised appearance because of increased interest in this issue and various rumors. The president reiterated that if the two presidents reach an agreement on any of the scenarios–which will be also acceptable for the Nagorno Karabakh Republic–it first will be discussed by all branches of power and then must be approved of by the people.
"As I always said no one has the right to decide this question unilaterally," the president assured.
