MONTEBELLO– Saturday night–February 5–2000–at a dinner gathering organized by the Church Board at the Holy Cross Cathedral’s Toumanjian hall–Krikor and Kohar Sulahian and their son and daughter in law–Dikran and Peggy Sulahian–announced a donation of $20,000 for Armenian Mesrobian school.
The Sulahian family has undertaken such philanthropic ventures in the past too. Aside from an initial $10,000 infusion a few years ago.
They also sponsored the Art Classroom in the newly renovated campus by making a contribution of $15,000.
"We are very happy that the Sulahian family made this generous donation to our school," said Principal Garabet Moumdjian who was attending the event. "We are pleased that this donation comes at the moment when Dikran and Peggy Sulahian’s daughter–Giovanna sets her first steps at our school’s ECE program as a pre-schooler.
Principal Moumdjian also proudly mentioned that Peggy Sulahian–a motivated student–has taken several of his courses while completing her Bachelor’s at UCLA.
The Sulahians’ have also announced that they have asked family members and friends who will be attending the christening of their second grand daughter and daughter–Gianelle–on March 12–to make their contribution in lieu of gifts to Mesrobian school as well.
