Dikran Derghazarian Makes Donation to Prelacy

LOS AGNELES–The Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church is proud to announce a generous donation from long active philanthropist–Dikran Derghazarian. At the start of a new millennium inspired by the Prelacy Christmas dinner in January–Derghazarian has blessed the Western Prelacy his kindness.

Derghazarian recently expressed to the Prelate of the Western Prelacy–Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian–his plan to donate $225,000 worth of his holding in various stocks and bonds. The value of these stocks will be deposited in the Prelacy New Building Fund–greatly advancing the plans of the Prelacy to move its headquarters. Furthermore–Derghazarian has expressed his interest to vest his residence to the Prelacy in his will. He has asked that the residence be sold and all proceeds to be placed in a Trust fund–whose interest should be used to advance educational programs and projects of the Holy Martyrs Ferrahian and Mesrobian Armenian Schools.

"We are grateful for the generous donation by Dikran Derghazarian," said Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian. "By making this donation he not only carries the memory of his recently deceased wife Zarouhi–but also helps prepare educated young Armenia’s–and advances the religious projects of the Western Prelacy," continued Bishop Mardirossian. Advancing the wishes will be used for the Prelacy New Building Fund–whose official reception conference room or hall will be named after Mr. Dikran Derghazarian and in the loving memory of his Zarouhi.

On behalf of the Prelate Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian–the Religious and Executive Councils of the Western Prelacy and the committees and organizations–we express our appreciation and gratitude to Dikran Deghazarian whose past donations have helped advance the religious–educational–and cultural mission of the Armenian community.
