Ghoukassian Supports LINKS Program

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Arkady Ghoukassian met February 28 with Executive Director of the British LINKS non-governmental organization Denis Samute–Director Richard Samuel–former British ambassador to Armenia–David Miller–a BBC journalist accompanying the delegation–Tom Di Vaal–and Leader of the "Armenia’s Young Democrats" Levon Martirossian.

During the meeting Samute pointed out that the goal of their visit is to study the situation–in particular–the attitude of different sections of Karabakh’s population to the negotiations for the Karabakh settlement. According to him–supporting Karabakh’s full participation in all the meetings throughout the negotiating process–the LINKS organization is willing to establish similar contacts at the public level of the conflicting parties.

Hailing the initiative of the representatives of the LINKS organization–Ghoukassian expressed the Karabakh authorities’ willingness to support this initiative.
