International Scientific Funds Ready to Assist Armenian Science

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–International scientific funds are ready to increase the financing of science in Armenia under cooperative programs.

The issue of increasing funds allocated to Armenia’s science was raised by President of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences Fadey Sargssian at the negotiations held with the Civic Research Development Fund. International Scientific and Technical Center as well as with NASA representatives during his visit to the US.

Agreemen’s were reached on these funds increasing their financial assistance up to $1,000,000 provided that the Armenian side ensures five percent of the financing of scientific projects. The ANAS president told Noyan Tapan that the required sum has been provided. During his meeting with Armenian business circles and benevolent organizations in the USA the ANAS president was assured of their willingness to support scientific projects. For instance–three projects considered by the CRDF were financed under a new cooperative initiative.
