Karabakh Foreign Minister Meets With Human Rights International

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Karabakh foreign minister Naira Melkumian met with Aaron Rhodes–the executive director of the Human Rights International Helsinki Federation and the program’s coordinator Petra Winter in Karabakh permanent representation in Yerevan.

Mr. Rhodes informed about the results of his June 9-11 visit to Karabakh and offered an expertise assistance of his organization to the new Karabakh parliament to be elected June 18.

Expressing her gratitude for assistance and accepting it–foreign minister Melkumian noted that both the Karabakh president and the government have committed themselves to pursue establishment of a democratic and civilian society.

Both sides agreed that without human rights protection the natural development of the region would be impossible.
