Tatul Margarian Appointed Deputy Foreign Minister

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–President Robert Kocharian issued a decree appointing Tatul Margarian deputy minister of foreign affairs of Armenia–said the Presidential Press Service.

Tatul Margarian was born in Kapan in 1964. He graduated from Yerevan Institute of National Economy and Johns Hopkins University. Since 1994 Margarian has held different positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: He was first secretary of the Department for USA and Canada–advisor to the Armenian Embassy in the USA–and from 1996-1998 he was envoy extraordinary and minister plenipotentiary. Since 1999 Tatul Margarian has held the post of the advisor to the foreign minister. He is also working for Ph. D. degree at the University of Political Science and Economy in London.

Margarian is a candidate of economy and has a master’s degree in international relations. In 1999 he received the degree of envoy extraordinary and minister plenipotentiary. Margarian speaks Russian and English.
