Karabakh State University Gets New Principal

KARABAKH (Noyan Tapan)–Karabakh’s Prime Minister Anoushavan Tanielian named Nikola Atamian the new principal of the Karabakh State University.

Atamian was born in 1934 in the Mardakert region of Karabakh. Upon finishing schooling in Stepanakert in 1952–Atamian received his university education in Moscow at the Institute for textiles and and upon graduating in 1957 worked for a period in Yerevan–Armenia. Upon graduation Atamian held several jobs in the private and governmental sector and in the field of education. In 1996 he was appointed the head of the Topography Division of Armenia’s School of Architecutre. In 1998 he received the title of Professor. Atamian has written over 100 articles in the field of architecutre and engineering. He is also a member of the Armenian Architecutral Academy and Russia’s Academy of Topography.
