YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Armenia’s president Robert Kocharian–accompanied by foreign minister Vartan Oskanian–will leave for New York on September 4 to participate in the United Nations Millennium Summit.
According to presidential press office–president Kocharian is expected to attend a number of events from September 6-7 that are to be held within the framework of the Millennium Summit. This includes a welcoming exception to be held by the UN Secretary General and Co-chairmen of the Summit and the Summit Round Table.
Kocharian is scheduled for to give a speech at the Summit on September 7. He is also to meet with president of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. President Kocharian’s itinerary also includes a visit to the headquarters of the US East Coast Diocese of Armenian Church.
First in new York and later in Geneva–President Kocharian will meet with the Diaspora businessmen of Armenian origin to present the economic situation in Armenia–the ideology of the carried out reforms and the major steps undertaken to improve the economy.
