New Statistics Show Power Provides Nearly Half of Energy

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The Metsamor nuclear power plant along with thermal and hydro power stations produced 3 billion 710 million k/watt energy in the first half of the current year–a 0.2% decrease over the same period last year–Armstat reported. The volume of energy produced by the Metsamor nuclear plant increased by 11.5% and that produced by thermal and hydro power stations decreased respectively by 9.7 and 6%.

According to Armstat–over the first seven months of the current year–the Metsamor nuclear plant produced 1 billion 715 million k/watt of energy–accounting for 42.5% of entire energy produced in the country. The thermal power stations produced 1 billion 320 million k/watt energy (35.6%) and the hydro power stations produced 674 million k/watt energy (18.2%).
