International Organizations Help With Drought Consequences

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–According to an assessment–$15-20 million of aid will be provided to Armenia’s agricultural sector which is suffering from drought. Armenian Agriculture Minister Zaven Gevorkyan said in a press conference that a commission headed by the minister for coordinating production infrastructures–David Zadoyan–was trying to coordinate foreign aid.

The World Bank is expected to give a credit worth $75 million for a follow-up program to improve the country’s irrigation system. A total of $32-35 million was channeled earlier to strengthen Armenia’s reservoirs.
