TEHRAN (ALIK)–A major Iranian newspaper reported on November 29 that a Genocide resolution outline was proposed by Armenian delegates in the Iranian parliament.
The paper included an interview with Iranian-Armenian parliamentarian Dr. Levon Davtian in which he mentions the fact that the atrocities committed against the Armenia’s of the Ottoman Empire is considered the first genocide of the 20th century. Davtian also mentioned the various countries that have already passed similar resolutions condemning Turkey. The delegate said that he hopes the parliament will meet this demand of the Iranian-Armenian community. Davtian–the representative of the Armenian communities in Tehran and northern Iran–feels confident that the outline of the resolution will be accepted at the upcoming parliament session.
