GLENDALE–On Monday–March 12–the Armenian National Committee Glendale and La Crescenta Chapters announced their endorsemen’s for the April 3rd Glendale City Council–Glendale Community College Board of Trustees and Glendale Unified School District’s Board of Education races.
Citing their steadfast and continuing commitment to the community–the ANC endorsed Hamo Rostamian–Frank Quintero and Mary Boger for the three open seats in the Glendale City Council race.
Glendale ANC Chairman Artin Manoukian also noted that the field for City Council was especially strong this year and cited Pam Ellis and Dave Weaver in particular as strong and capable candidates.
For Glendale Unified School Districts Board of Education–the ANC endorsed Kathleen Burke-Kelly–Greg Krikorian and incumbent Chuck Sambar–while in the Glendale Community College Board of Trustees race the ANC endorsement went to Dr. Armine Hacopian and incumbent candidates Victor King and Mary Hamilton.
"We are pleased by the quality of candidates in all three Glendale City races and narrowing down the selection to three endorsees for each race was certainly challenging," stated Manoukian–"We are confident that once elected–these ANC endorsed candidates will prove to be true leaders and will earn the respect of all the residents of Glendale."
The ANC based their recommendations on the candidate’s track record–familiarity with the needs of the Armenian American community and the positions articulated by each candidate during the February 24–2001 ANC sponsored candidate forum.
