YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The ARF Parliamentary faction considers the work of the National Assembly for the last two years satisfactory–Head of the faction Aghvan Vardanian said at the June 14 press briefing.
According to Vardanian–the faction has always sought to constructively cooperate with all other factions and groups–as well as to improve the country’s legislation through balanced laws.
As regards the faction’s initiative to increase pensions–Vardanian said the faction members believe there are necessary resources for this and the faction will continue working in this direction. Presently–the faction is discussing further steps. "We are convinced that the problem will find a positive solution," Vardanian stated.
Vardanian disagreed with the opinion of the Head of the Right & Unity faction Artashes Geghamian–that Armenia is now running the risk of losing its statehood. Vardanian stressed that "We must always bear in mind that no state–no nation in the world except Armenia wants us to become a strong and powerful nation. Everything depends on us."
