YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Vice-Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly–Chairman of the Armenia-Russia Inter-parliamentary Group Gagik Aslanian held a meeting June 15 with a delegation headed by Deputy of the Russian State Duma–Chairman of the International Union of Commodity Producers (IUCP) Nikolay Ryzhkov. Participating in the meeting were leaders of parliamentary factions–groups and heads standing commissions.
Summing up the results of the meetings in Armenia–Ryzhkov commented on the works of the IUCP Yerevan Conference as being effective–and formulated the next task – finding funds for the implementation of the proposed programs–in which Armenia has an essential role in as well.
The sides expressed opinions that favorable conditions are available for further work. A decision was made to specify the program of discussions at a meeting in Yerevan in September–after which–according to Ryzhkov–the commission will hold joint meetings in Moscow in December.
The meeting participants also pointed out that Armenia has retained great scientific and technical potential–that is not properly implemented. Mutually advantageous results are possible to attain through joint initiatives and by establishing joint ventures.
