Diaspora in Full Support of Pan Armenian Games

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Athletes from 85 cities and 32 countries will take part in this summer’s second Pan-Armenian Games–to be held in Yerevan August 18-26–announced the tournament’s organizers on Friday.

It was also announced that 20 teams will compete in soccer–and 14 teams in mini-soccer–which is played on a smaller field. Competing in men’s volleyball will be 8 teams and 10 teams for women’s volleyball. Men’s basketball will have 25 teams and women’s basketball 14 teams.

Armen Grigorian–chairman of the organizing committee–was selected to preside over the tournament.

Master of Ceremonies for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies–Hratch Ashoughian–said that preparation for the Pan-Armenian Games is being carried out smoothly. Members of the organizing committee also announced that issues–such as transportation and accommodations–have already been arranged.
