BAKU (Noyan Tapan)–The British BBC television channel reported that the American Exon-Mobil gas company–that was drilling in Azerbaijan’s Oghooz gas mine–has stopped its activities because–contrary to popular belief that there is 95 million tons of gas to be found there–they have had no success in the drilling processes.
Exon-Mobil is the third gas company that has failed to retrieve gas from the Oghooz mine–the previous two being BP Amok and Ajip companies.
Speaking to a BBC reporter–a correspondent from the Azerbaijani Touran News Agency said that the Exon-Mobil company could have had $40 million in losses if they had continued to mine.
