Lebanese President Emile Lahoud Receives Armenian Ambassador Arman Navasardian

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Lebanese President General Emile Lahoud welcomed Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon Arman Navasardian on July 23. According to the Public Relations Department of the Armenian Foreign Ministry–during the meeting the two discussed the current Armenian-Lebanese relations. Both sides emphasized the importance of the interstate agreemen’s–which were signed during mutual visits–for further development of the two countries’ relations.

Under the Armenian-Lebanese cooperation program the sides exchanged opinions concerning Armenia’s participation in the Beirut International Exhibition of Agricultural Production to take place in September and in the Summit of the Francophone countries to be held in Beirut in October–as well as Armenian parliament chairman Armen Khachatrian’s visit to Lebanon and many other cultural arrangemen’s expected in the near future.

According to an agreement–made by the two presidents during Lahoud’s recent visit to Yerevan–the first session of the Armenian-Lebanese Intergovernmental Joint Commission is to be held in Armenia or in Beirut by the end of the year.
