Patriarchs of Constantinople Jerusalem Arrive in Holy Etchmiadzin

ETCHMIADZIN (Noyan Tapan)–The Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople Abp. Mesrop Mutafyan and the Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem Abp. Torgom Manoogian arrived in Holy Etchmiadzin on July 27 at the invitation of His Holiness Karekin II–the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenia’s. The goal of the visit is to discuss issues related to the celebration of the 1700th anniversary of the adoption of Christianity as Armenia’s state religion as well as the current life of the Armenian Church.

In the morning His Holiness received the Patriarchs in his residence. In the afternoon–His Holiness and the two Patriarchs visited St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral being built in Yerevan–from where they headed for the summer residence of the Catholicos of All Armenia’s in Byurakan.
