Italian Ambassador Visits Hospital in Ashotsk

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Ambassador of the Italian Republic HE Paolo Andrea Trabalza visited the Redemptoris Mater Hospital in Ashotsk on July 25. The hospital is a donation from the Holy Chair to the Armenian people. It is financed by the Italian Caritas and is being managed by the Camiliani Fathers. The medical–paramedical and auxiliary staff consists of Armenian citizens and the Administrative Director–Father Mariano Florio–assisted by Sisters Marie Reine and Noelle. The director has informed the Ambassador about the organizational and sanitary progresses and about the hospital’s relations with the central–regional and local Armenian authorities.

The Ambassador of Italy has stated that the hospital is one of the most efficient institutions of the region. It provides not only sanitary and moral assistance to the local people–but also over 200 jobs. Collateral activities aimed at creation of jobs and rehabilitation of the region could be foreseen in the future.
