Mother See Does Not Encourage Bull Fight in Yerevan

ETCHMIADZIN (Noyan Tapan)–The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin received numerous alarming telegrams and letters from international organizations for animals’ protection–public organizations–spiritual fathers of churches in Europe–and many individuals who are concerned and disappointed with the proposed bull-fights in Yerevan–on September 7-9–which are supposedly dedicated to the 1700th Anniversary of Proclamation of Christianity.

In response to the fictitious and false reports that the Armenian Church not only is tolerating–but also has agreed to conduct a bull-fight in Armenia–the Department of Information Services of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin has announced that the possible bull-fights in Yerevan have nothing to do with the ecclesiastical celebrations dedicated to the 1700th Anniversary.

Moreover–the Armenian Apostolic Church does not accept or encourage such entertainment which celebrates murder and undermines Christian morals. Such an event corrupts the viewers and distorts the Christian ideals in those people’s minds.
