Danielian Named Co Principal At Hoover High

GLENDALE–Hasmik Danielian–principal at Toll Middle School in Glendale since 1997–will become co-principal at Hoover High School–effective after classes open in September. She will succeed Pam Good–who was co-principal since 1999–who plans to join the Los Angeles Achievemen’s Council in October.

Among other accomplishmen’s at Toll–Danielian led her school’s successful bid for a 2001 State Distinguished School Award. This year Toll is applying for a National Blue Ribbon designation. She joined the district in 1988 as an English and English Second Language teacher at Toll. The following year she moved to Glendale high as a teacher specialist with responsibilities for intercultural projects and other special programs. In 1993 she was appointed Dean of Students and in 1995–she was appointed Assistant Principal–both at Glendale High School. She holds two Master’s degrees and is also certified to teach at the Community college level. Danielian has been honored by the PTA–the Soroptomists International of Glendale–and the Glendale Host Lions Club in recent years for her leadership in education.

Danielian will continue at Toll and Good will stay a while longer. The new principal at Toll will be named as soon as possible.

Additionally two new Assistant Principals have been named at Wilson Middle School and Glendale High School. Mercedes Metz–teacher specialist at Toll Middle School–succeeds Ruth Rapp–retiring after 44 years of service. Scott Anderle–teacher specialist at Glendale High School–moves up to Assistant Principal and replaces Jerry Watson–who joins the School to Career staff at the Central Office. Metz joined the district in 1995 as a teacher at Muir Elementary. Anderle joined the Glendale High staff in 1996 after working eight years in the banking industry.
