Regular Meeting of The Karabakh Paliament

STEPANAKERT (Noyan Tapan)–On October 1–a regular meeting of the third session of the Karabakh National Assembly took place.

The deputies approved a number of bills–amending and supplementing acting laws. During the discussion of the Law "On the Social Security of the Servicemen and Members of their Families," there were two drafts considered that were submitted by the Parliament and Government. After long discussions–an amendment was made to the law’s provisions concerning the deceased which also applies to the families of those servicemen who were demobilized–regardless of the term–died due the injuries or diseases aquired during the service period. They also apply to the families of the missing–as well as recognized as missing or deceased–in an order fixed by the Karabakh legislation.

The parliamentarians also adopted bills that would amend laws on the duties of the prosecutor’s office–on private entrepreneurship–and other various laws. The parliamentarians also passed a bill regarding the protection of the environment.

In the framework of the agenda’s item "Questions to the Government"–the representatives of the Republic’s executive power–headed by Prime Minister Anushavan Danielian–gave interpretations on a series of issues of the voters’ concern–mainly those of social-economic and cultural-educational character.
