Parliament Meets to Discuss Question of Georgia

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"The situation in Abkhazia is quite complicated–one should be cautious and vigilant not to allow other parties concerned to drive a wedge into Armenian-Georgian relations," said Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian during a parliament meeting on Wednesday. The meeting was a question-answer session for members of the Armenian government. The minister emphasized that the resolution to this problem should become an immediately considered by the Parliament.

Saying that the problem is topical and must be in the center of the attention of the executive power and the National Assembly–the minister said that Yerevan is aware of the situation and is currently holding talks at different levels with all parties involved in order to get information and to try to relieve the situation peacefully.

Oskanian said that the number of Armenia’s out of the 14 killed is still unclear how many–but it is obvious that most of them were Armenia’s.
