President of Armenia Meets With Youth

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–President Robert Kocharian held an open dialogue with the youth on October 11 with a delegation of the National Council of the Youth of Armenia.

Stating that such meetings are mutually useful–the participants said they would like to make them more frequent–since such meetings give them a chance to discuss their problems directly with the authorities.

Stating that the youth is number first assistant of the president–members of the National Council gave assurances that the president can rely on the active cooperation of the youth organizations. They said the National Council of Youth includes close to forty youth and students’ organizations which could be very helpful to the country.

The parties discussed the moral-psychological atmosphere in the country–the personnel policy and the activities of the All-Armenian Youth Fund–as well as pointed out the importance of reforming the public sphere. The president promised to assist the youth in the implementation of their projects as far as possible.
