Volume of Foreign Trade Between Armenia And Ukraine Increase

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Anatoly Zlenko will visit Armenia on Thursday to discuss the development of economic relations between Armenia and Ukraine.

Foreign trade between Armenia and Ukraine is growing. According to the State Customs Service of Ukraine–trade between Ukraine and Armenia for the first six months of this year totaled $14.6 million.–which is two times more than the same time last year. The Ukrainian import to Armenia totaled $9.1 million and the Armenian export to Ukraine totaled $5.5 million–three times more than last year. The Ukrainian imports to the Armenia mainly consists of agricultural products–such as grain–cereals–tobaccos–confectionery–products of ferrous metallurgy–chemical industry–including medicines–drains and hoses. Most of the import from Armenia are agricultural products including brandy and tomatto paste–chemical products like synthetic rubber as well as machine-building products like control panels–motors and generators. The aforementioned positive trends were due to the heightened efficiency of the operation of the Ilyichevsk-Poti train-ferry.
