Customs Office Reveal Five Tons of Smuggled Goods

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The Armenian customs department reported a discovery of a huge amount of smuggled foodstuff and cigarettes. A press release–issued by the department–says four Armenian citizens have bought the smuggled goods in Georgia and by distributing them among other passengers of Tbilisi-Yerevan train have smuggled them into Armenia.

The smuggled goods were disclosed in Yerevan only. The four appeared to have smuggled a total of five tons of various foodstuff–worth almost $17,000. The police have launched an investigation into the reported case.
