Kocharian Welcomes Delegation From St. Petersburg

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Armenia’s President Robert Kocharian welcomed the St. Petersburg delegation–led by the governor Valerie Serdyukov on Tuesday.

The representatives from St. Petersburg arrived in Armenia at the invitation of the Aragatsotn province to study the possibilities of developing bilateral business relations and to develop further cooperation.

Kocharian underlined the importance of the development of relations between separate regions of the two countries. According to him–there are active business contacts established with a number of Russian provinces–and promising programs were worked out–which proves that this method of cooperation has great prospects for development.

As Valerie Serdyukov said–St. Petersburg’s has a developed a sustainable economy over the last few years. He underlined the Armenian community’s role in the economic–trade–cultural and educational life of the city–because of which–preconditions for the further development of relations with Armenia were established.
