Oskanian Comments On TARC Section 907

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–"The law will not have negative repercussions in Armenia–because there are provisions that provide for the security of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh. After approving the bill–Congress also approved a special explanatory document–stating that any aid–regardless of what it is–cannot obstruct the conflict (Karabakh) settlement process," said Oskanian referring to the US Congress decision concerning the Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act–at a press conference held on Tuesday. The explanatory document also states that the aid cannot be used against Armenia’s in Caucasus.

"We are not worried about our security and I can even say that a new phase of Armenian-American military cooperation has begun," said Oskanian–also stating that Armenia’s military cooperation with the United States will differ from its cooperation with Russia.

Oskanian also commented on the Turkish-Armenian Reconciliation Commission at the press conference–saying–"I think it is time for Armenian side of Armenian-Turkish reconciliation commission to analyze their six-month activity–discuss the positive and negative results and consequences and try to determine their next steps."

He also said that Armenian members of the committee should analyze and discuss the results of their activity after each TARC session.
