WASHINGTON–Congressman Adam Schiff (D-27) will once again honor the memory of the 1.5. million victims of the Armenian Genocide during a speech on the floor of the US House of Representatives on April 24–and he is inviting his constituents to submit the names of family members lost during the genocide for recognition on the floor.
As in the previous year–Rep. Schiff will read the names of victims of the genocide into the Congressional Record as a way to give a voice to those whose voices were tragically silenced by the Ottoman Turkish government’s state-sponsored genocide.
The Congressional Record is the most widely recognized published account of the debates–proceedings–and activities of the United States Congress. Printed by the Government Printing Office on a daily basis–the Congressional Record is a full record of legislative proceedings.
Constituents of the 27th Congressional District of California–which includes Burbank–Glendale–Pasadena–South Pasadena–La Caada-Flintridge–San Marino–Sunland-Tujunga–La Crescenta and Altadena–may call Rep. Schiff’s district office at (626) 304-2727–fax (626) 304-0572 or e-mail schiff.speech@mail.house.gov to submit the names of family members who were victims of the Armenian Genocide. Names should be submitted no later than 5 p.m. Monday.
