YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Energy officials of Iran and Armenia’specified the tasks of the completion of the construction of the Agarak switching station and the construction of the Agarak-Shinuhair high-voltage electroline "Syunik-Kentron" last week.
This was announced by Energy Minister Armen Movsissian at a press conference on April 30.
He added that in the course of the negotiations the sides signed a number of documen’s–solved issues of financing and the schedule of construction work. According to the working agreement–the Iranian "Sanir" company will allocate $585,000 for the completion of the construction of the Agarak switching station.
The Armenian side has pledged to compensate for this sum with electricity.
The same principle of financing will be applied in the construction of the "Agarak-Shinuhair" high-voltage electroline "Syunik-Kentron."
An estimated $10 million is required for the realization of this work. The designing of this high-voltage line has already begun.
