In conjunction with the second Armenia Diaspora Conference to be held in Yerevan–May 27-28–a series of business events will be held
YEREVAN–On May 26–2002–"Made in Armenia Expo" will be inaugurated at the Government’s Hall (2 Melik Adamian St.)
The show–organized together with the Armenian Development Agency will feature close to 100 export-ready companies from various sectors of Armenia’s economy.
This show aims to promote Armenian exports in foreign markets through Diasporan business people and outlets. Companies interested to apply for participation as exhibitors should contact the Armenian Development Agency or the Armenia Diaspora Conference team at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
This exhibit will be open to the public. Conference participants will be invited to visit the Expo during the lunch break on Monday–the first day of the Conference–or any time during that week–at their leisure.
On May 25–2002–a special by-invitation meeting will be held for Diasporan business and professional organizations. This new initiative–organized within the framework of the second Armenia Diaspora Conference–is aimed at optimizing and utilizing the strength of the growing Armenian business community by creating a forum where Diaspora Chambers of Commerce and professional and business organizations can cooperate and network.
Community organizations and individualsfrom 20 countries are expected to participate at this meeting to be held at the Armenian Development Agency.
It is expected that by forging links–Diasporan business and professional organizations will be able to increase contacts among the members of the trans-national network–disseminate information on the Armenian economy–promote trade and investmen’s and begin to develop common policies aimed at strengthening the economic position of Armenia and Armenia’s.
This same group will be invited to meet on May 29–immediately following the Armenia Diaspora Conference–in order to discuss possible ways of implementing projects and proposals made by the conference.
More than 1,000 Diasporan professionals–businesspersons and representatives of organizations are expected to attend the second Armenia Diaspora Conference. Registration is open until May 15.
