Armenian Azeri and Turkish Foreign Ministers Meet in Reykjavik

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–A meeting of Armenian–Azeri and Turkish Foreign ministers began in Reykjavik on May 15. Regional issues will be discussed during the meeting.

The trilateral meeting will be followed by a private conversation of the Armenian and Turkish foreign ministers. According to Azeri press–during the meeting–Vardan Oskanian and Ismail Cem will discuss issues on normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations–particularly–on elimination of economic blockade. It is also supposed that during the visit to Baku Turkish Deputy Prime-Minister Devlet Bahceli tried to guarantee Azerbaijan’s loyal attitude towards this issue.

On the other hand–Azeri Foreign Minister Vilayat Guliev was quoted by Azeri 525th Gazet as saying that he does not expect any serious results from the meeting in Reykjavik. The newspaper writes that Azeri authorities do not believe in the Armenian-Turkish border’s re-opening.
