Armenia Refrains from Sending Delegation to Azerbaijan

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Armenia did not send a delegation to the 35th meeting of the Council of Customs Chiefs of the CIS–which is taking place in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku.

A senior official of the Armenian Customs department said the Armenian delegation is not going to Baku due to "political reasons." The meeting in Baku is centering on questions on simplifying customs procedures between CIS member states–the broadening of cooperation and joint struggle against smuggling.

The decision not to send the delegation to Baku might have been prompted by reports that members of Armenian delegations sent to Baku to participate in different international meetings–were subjected to verbal attacks by Azeris.
