Melkoumian Calls On Diasporans to Visit Karabakh

WASHINGTON (Noyan Tapan)–Visiting Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Foreign Minister Naira Melkoumian urged the Diaspora to continue its support of Karabakh and said that if every Armenian visits the Republic once a year–the economy of the nation will improve drastically.

Malkoumian also said that the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic must be internationally recognized and ultimately rejoin Armenia.

In discussing the current socio-economic conditions in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic–Melkoumian said that the climate for investment in the region is ripe and pointed out that many Diaspora Armenia’s have already made significant investmen’s within the country’s economic infrastructure.

She explained that there were no risks involved in making investmen’s in Karabakh–since its army is capably guarding its borders. Melkoumian added that the people of Karabakh–who won the war–must have an opportunity to live under normal economic conditions.
