Armenian Border Guards Enrage Javakhk Population

YEREVAN (ArmInfo)–The Armenian population of Javakhk expressed discontent about the behavior of Armenian officers serving at the border control post near the Bavry customs station–on the border of Armenia and Javakhk.

The population is indignant –claiming that frontier-guards extort money for exit and entry permits.

In some instances the officers have tried to justify their behavior–explaining that people leaving Javakhk for Armenia possess no international passports.

They frequently extort money from people without any explanation–however–stating that they need the money for drinks. The Armenian population reports that the officers are routinely drunk during evening hours.
