Armenian Houses Bought for Georgian Settlers in Akhalkalak

AKHALKALAK (Armenpress)–Citing ‘reliable sources,’ the A-Info news agency–located in the southern Georgian town of Akhalkalak–revealed that some twenty houses–belonging to local Armenia’s of Akhalkalak–were bought for Georgians who wish to move in the region. Akhalkalak is the administrative center of the Samtskhe-Javakhk province populated mainly by Armenia’s.

The news agency said that Georgian special services has created a special fund to buy additional houses.

The long-term goal of this plan is to encourage local Armenia’s to sell their houses and move out of the province–thus decrease the overall number of the Armenian population.
