A high-level delegation representing the Presbyterian Church (USA) visited the headquarters of the Armenian Catholicosate of Cilicia in Antelias–Lebanon–where they met with His Holiness Aram I.
During the hour-long meeting–the members of the delegation asked the Catholicos to assess the current Middle-East situation–developmen’s in Christian-Islam dialogues–and general inter-church issues.
The Catholicos clarified his views and concerns–and stressed the importance of the role of American churches in instilling spiritual and ethical values.
The delegation also forwarded a letter from the head the Presbyterian Church–Rev. Dr. Kirkpatrick–inviting His Holiness Aram I to present the opening speech at the Presbyterian Church’s International convention which will host more than 3,000 delegates. The convention will take place in the US–in May 2003.
