President Khatami Honors Contributions of Dr. Tavtian

TEHRAN (Alik)–During an official ceremony honoring special achievemen’s in science–literature–and art– Dr. Harmik Tavtian was recognized by Iranian President Mohammad Khatami for his contribution to science. The ceremony took place at the Iranian Academy of Medical Sciences on January 30.

The Armenian Prelate of Tehran Bishop Sebouh Sarkisian–Islamic parliament representative of Armenia’s in Northern Iran Dr. Levon Tavtian–and other prominent political and public figures as well as scientists–artists and various guests participated in the ceremony organized by four Iranian academies.

The president of the Iranian Academy of Medical Sciences Iraj Fazel presented and praised Harmik Tavtian for his immense contributions to psychiatry and for his efforts to establish a mental health department at the Academy.

Harmik Davtian–together with three other honorees–was presented a special memento and a diploma by the Iranian President.
