Armenia for Full Disarmament of Iraq

YEREVAN (PanARMENIAN.Net)–Armenian foreign ministry press secretary Tzyunik Aghajanian–speaking to the "Arminfo" news agency–said that Armenia is for the full and unconditional disarmament of Iraq in pursuance of UN Security Council resolutions. She stated that Armenia’s stance reflects international treaties and agreemen’s on the struggle against weapons of mass destruction ratified by Armenia.

Aghajanian noted that as a country adjacent to the region of tension–Armenia is concerned about the situation in Iraq and around it. "The disarmament of Iraq is essential; the situation could–otherwise–have extremely undesirable consequences," she emphasized–adding that Armenia had not considered the issue of providing an air corridor for possible US military operations against Iraq.
