Two Days of Culture Food and Fun at ARS Festival May 17 and 18

LOS ANGELES–After the unprecedented success of last spring’s Armenian Relief Society (ARS) festival and the overwhelming support of the community–the ARS has set the stage for its second annual ARS Day festival at the Glendale Civic Auditorium on May 17 and 18.

The festival will feature uninterrupted live music and dance performances–ethnic dance instruction–reenactment of a traditional Armenian wedding–a traditional costume show–as well as special entertainment for children of all ages.

More than 20 booths offering Armenian culinary delicacies and plenty of arts–crafts and gift items will be offered to shoppers.

Art exhibits will feature Armenian artists from abroad and the United States.

Proceeds from the festival will benefit the Armenian Relief Society’s numerous programs–including the five Social Service centers that provide assistance to disadvantaged families–and counseling and job placement services to new immigran’s. Proceeds will also go to the Child–Youth and Family Guidance Center–the ARS scholarship fund and the outreach program to youth and cultural organizations.

The ARS invites everyone to attend the celebrations. The festival will be held at the Glendale Civic Auditorium–on Saturday–May 17 1:00 p.m. to midnight and Sunday–May 18 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Opening Ceremonies will begin on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. The Auditorium is located at 1401 N. Verdugo Road–Glendale–CA 91208–across the street from the Glendale Community College.

Enjoy a day filled with unique programs and indulge yourself in shopping and an array of Armenian delicacies–while learning the secrets of Armenian food preparation. Admission is $4.00.
